Ironically, this has become an important life event for me and an opportunity to spread the word about the importance of safety and self defense and even to use my black belt to, not only save my life, but teach others to make the most of theirs.
My sensei taught me the black belt isn't just a title, it carries with it a responsibility to pass on what I have learned. That is the tradition I was given and it is my honor to carry it on.
